Representatives of the Karenni Community Based Organizations met and endorsed current negotiations between the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP) and the Burmese government. Unregistered mines are mines for which no records were kept by the combatants. It is not known how many mines have been scattered in this way. All townships in Kayah/Karenni state are reported by the Landmine Monitor to have some level of antipersonnel mine pollution.
