The United Nations Myanmar Information Management Unit (MIMU) has produced an updated Myanmar Hazard mapmap of townships with suspected landmine hazard from Landmine Monitor 2015 data.

The map is cumulative, and highlights townships in which Landmine Monitor has discovered landmine contamination through casualty reports or other reports of mined areas since 2007. Casualty information on the map, indicated by an explosive icon, is for the year 2014 only.

Landmine Monitor has found evidence of antipersonnel mine use in 56 of the country’s townshps. Heaviest contamination is believed to be in Kayin (Karen) and Kachin States, and eastern Bago region.

The map is available at UN MIMU website. The current version is English. A Burmese language version will be uploaded shortly.
