Burmese soldier dies after KIA mine explodes, Kachin News Group,  31 January 2012

Thailand based organization claims a Burmese Army soldier died due a “suspected Kachin Independence Army land mine”, while traveling on a road in Manmaw (Bhamo) district of Kachin State. The article states that armed conflict between the Kachin Independence Army and the Burmese Army continues in some areas of northern Shan State. The article does not state if the soldier was in a vehicle, and if the explosion was caused by an antipersonnel or antivehicle mine.
