Elephant Injured By Land Mine on Thai-Myanmar Border, Khaosod (english), 14 December 2014

Article is vague on location of incident, stating both that it took place on the border of Burma and Thailand, and during construction of a reservoir in Tak province of Thailand.  In the past, most injured elephants treated at the Thai Elephant Conservation Hospital in Lampang have been involved in illegal cross border logging in Myanmar. It is unclear if that is the case here. That it took 6 days to bring the elephant to the hospital suggests that the incident may well have taken place deeper in Myanmar. Although injured, it was believed that no serious damage had occurred and that the elephant would recover without limb loss.
