On 22 June 2018 the United Nations Myanmar Information Management Unit (UN MIMU) released an infographic summarizing Landmine Monitor reporting on Myanmar/Burma over the past decade.

Key illustrations: Myanmar/Burma has 2nd highest cumulative casualty rate for the past decade, when compared to all other mine affected countries in Asia.


Over 1000 people have been killed or injured by antipersonnel landmines since peace talks began in late 2011.

The majority of known victims are adult males. Kayin and Kachin States have produced the most landmine casualties in the past decade.
